Hervé Obligi

The idea of Irina Bokova to create a collection of door and furniture hardware in a contemporary style was realized in collaboration with many French and Russian masters. Stephanie Langer provided the initial sketches, Georges Cano from Maison Schmidt handled the more detailed development of the models, Oleg Klodt created a custom collection based on them for a private project, and Anna Agapova suggested using rock crystal as a foundational material. This led to the involvement of one of the best masters in stone craftsmanship, Hervé Obligi.

Hervé Obligi has been working with stone for over twenty years. His studio specializes in creating unique interior items, modern sculptures, and accessories inlaid with precious and semi-precious stones—particularly, handcrafted writing implements.

Hervé inlaid the handles and plates with transparent rock crystal with milky veins, perfectly complementing the main finish—satin nickel. All components are designed to be assembled like a puzzle, as the main idea of the collection is that the central part, framed by metal, can use various materials—from stone and glass to porcelain and leather.
